A Dirty Affair
Some of the projects we do in the house aren't just about saving cost, often its from not being able to find anything to fit exactly in the space we need it to. This laundry set-up was the result of many hours searching for the mother of all solutions for the constant churn of washing in a house of four.
The thing is I'm quite lazy when it comes to housework (shock horror), I'm definitely an out-of-sight out-of-mind kind of gal. So this is outside the bathroom, at the top of the stairs, where I see it every single morning. Oh joy. Anyway it works and we have no more baskets taking up floor space in bedrooms.
It was also a fairly cheap solution. A £3 piece of timber from the builders yard at B&Q which was already stained this colour, drill some holes in it and add some Enudden hooks from Ikea which were about £2.50 for a pair (which annoyingly they seem to have discontinued).
There are plenty of weird and wonderful knobs and hooks out there that would work, just check that the depth of it looks enough to hook your chosen bag handle on. Also if they are cabinet handles, check that they don't have a bolt fixing at the back as you'll have to mess about cutting them down. The laundry bags were from Zara, although again you can find plenty similar out there or patterned ones if you fancy.
Not my most ground-breaking project yet, but a very practical one and it's hard to make dirty undies exciting!
